The albums are not listed in a chronological order, but following the musical genres.

FIZZ is a fusion album mixing jazz-fusion, acid jazz and rock where piano, keyboards and Hammond organ have a leading role. It has a "live-oriented" inclination thanks to its sparkling rhythmic vivacity and zippy keyboards solos. The artwork is by Stefano Calanchi.

DOV’E’ CHE LA MEMORIA is the second album inspired by the poems of Filippo Finardi, an Italian poet and writer. The author’s voice reading the poems has been recorded by Alex Carpani in his home-studio, then starting from it an orchestral and symphonic descriptive music has been composed following the voice's flow.
Each musical piece is matched to a single poem of the author's collection and has the same title.

DOV’E’ CHE LA MEMORIA è il secondo album ispirato alle poesie di Filippo Finardi, poeta e scrittore italiano. La voce dell'autore che legge i propri versi è stata registrata da Alex Carpani nel proprio home-studio, poi partendo da essa il compositore ha scritto una musica orchestrale e sinfonica che segue e si adatta al flusso della voce.
Ogni brano musicale è abbinato ad una poesia della raccolta omonima del poeta e porta il medesimo titolo.

IL RITORNO is based on a novel by Filippo Finardi about the liberation of Bologna at the end of WW2.
The theatre play was a multimedia performance involving five actors and the music was performed live by Alex Carpani. There were some visuals projected behind the artists during the show.
The music has a leading role in the performance, covering about 40 minutes of the show, which is 60 minutes long. Musically speaking, this album is a mix of symphonic and electronic music.

IL RITORNO è basato su un testo di Filippo Finardi sulla Liberazione di Bologna alla fine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
Lo spettacolo teatrale è stato concepito come una performance multimediale con cinque attori in scena, la musica eseguita dal vivo da Alex Carpani e delle videoproiezioni alle spalle degli artisti.
La musica ha il ruolo principale nello spettacolo, essendo presente in 40 minuti su 60 di durata complessiva. Dal punto di vista musicale, questo album è un misto di musica sinfonica ed elettronica.

LE PROSPETTIVE MANCANTI is the last chapter of a trilogy dedicated to the poems of Edoardo Sanguineti, one of the main Italian living poets. Musically speaking, this album is a rock one, with electric guitars in evidence and a certain rhythmic vivacity.
The music has been conceived starting from the recorded voice of the poet reading his poems and each track is inspired by a single poem.

LE PROSPETTIVE MANCANTI è l'ultimo capitolo della trilogia dedicata alle poesie di Edoardo Sanguineti, uno dei maggiori poeti italiani viventi. Musicalmente parlando, questo album si può definire rock, con le chitarre elettriche in evidenza ed una certa vivacità ritmica.

LA CRUNA DELL'AGO is the first album of the trilogy dedicated to the poems of Edoardo Sanguineti, one of the main Italian living poets. The music is conceived starting from the author’s voice reading his poems and becomes a kind of “soundtrack”, where music and words merge together. Each track is inspired by a single poem. Musically speaking, this album is mainly acoustic, with simple and clear rhytmic lines and an harmonic texture made of piano melodies, organ, acoustic guitar and strings accompaniment.

LA CRUNA DELL'AGO è il primo album della trilogia dedicata alle poesie di Edoardo Sanguineti, uno dei maggiori poeti italiani viventi. La musica è concepita partendo dalla voce dell'autore che legge i propri versi e la musica diventa una sorta di "colonna sonora", dove musica e parole si compenetrano. Ogni brano è ispirato ad una singola poesia. Musicalmente parlando questo album è principalmente acustico, con linee ritmiche semplici e chiare ed una tessitura armonica fatta di melodie del piuano e accompagnamento di organo, chitarra acustica e archi.

These original brief compositions have been written for a promotional TV spot directed by Italian film director Giorgia Scalia for the "Caritas" social care association of Piacenza, Italy. Italian actor Gianni Schicchi, one of Marco Bellocchio's favorites ones, played in it.

CERCO UN PAESE INNOCENTE is a multimedia show inspired by some criminal facts committed in Bologna by a cruel gang between 1988 and 1994. This show has been conceived to narrate and to remember such bad story. The original music is by Alex Carpani and has been selected from his existing repertory.

CERCO UN PAESE INNOCENTE è uno spettacolo multimediale ispirato dai fatti criminali compiuti dalla banda della "Uno bianca" tra il 1988 e il 1994 in Emilia-Romagna. La performance è stata concepita per raccontare e ricordare questa dolorosa vicenda. La musica originale è di Alex Carpani ed è stata tratta dal suo repertorio esistente.

THE BORG SYMPHONY

This music has been composed for Paul Whitehead's cyper opera called "The Borg Symphony", which has been later issued by CypherArts, U.S.A.. This version is the demo one, the pre-production project made by the composer. The final version has been performed live by Alex Carpani and Paul Whitehead's cyborg-band at Prog Sud Festival 2006 near Marseille, France.

Queste musiche sono state composte per la cyber opera di Paul Whitehead intitolata "The Borg Symphony", che è stata poi pubblicata dalla CypherArts, U.S.A. Questa è la versione demo originale, ovvero la preproduzione del compositore. La versione finale è stata eseguita dal vivo da Alex Carpani e dal collettivo musicale di Paul Whitehead al Prog Sud Festival 2006, vicino a Marsiglia.

ALIEN IN MIND is a concept album mixing electronic music, drum'n'bass, jungle, ethnic grooves, sound effects and sampled voices. It's the second album of the trilogy dedicated to human mind and its possible deformations, alienations and inventions, which started with "Don't Turn Back" and ended with "Cul de Sac".
It's a voyage through a mind possessed by an alien entity, or simply a normal mind possessed by the human desire or knowledge… The project is a musical description of some shreds of confused thoughts, lived life and impressed images through the world of sounds.

DON’T TURN BACK è un concept album sull'alienazione, le distorsioni della realtà e le esperienze della mente, che mescola musica elettronica, effetti sonori, campionamenti di voci e rumori, drum'n'bass e acid grooves. E' il primo album della trilogia dedicata alla mente umana ed alle sue possibili deofrmazioni, alienazioni ed invenzioni, che è continuata con "Alien in Mind" ed è terminata con "Cul de Sac".

SOL ET LUNA is a collection of music composed between 1990 and 2004.
It is divided into three parts: the Part I is dedicated to the “solar side” of my music soul that inspired the production of the earlier period, the Part II is dedicated to the “lunar side” of my music that inspired the production of the recent period, then the Part III is dedicated to the union between classical music and rock.
The projects is made of 13 original tracks, that have been re-arranged for the occasion, plus 2 arrangements: “Romeo & Juliet” by S. Prokofiev and "Fanfare For The Common Man" by Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

SOL ET LUNA è una raccolta di musica composta tra il 1990 ed il 2004.
E' suddivisa in tre parti: la Parte I è dedicata alla "anima solare" della mia musica che ha ispirato la produzione del primo periodo, la Parte II è dedicata alla "Anima lunare" della mia musica che ha ispirato la musica del periodo più recente, la Part III, infine, è dedicata all'unione tra musica classica e rock.
L'album consta di 13 brani originali che sono stati riarrangiati per l'occasione, più 2 arrangiamenti: “Romeo & Juliet” di S. Prokofiev e"Fanfare For The Common Man" di A. Copland.

THEMES is an album of "music for films", which is a sort of original soundtrack for an imaginary film. This project has been inspirated by the master in "music for film" that Alex Carpani did at C.E.T. School, a famous Italian school of music.
